About this listen

When I—along with my best friend and his big purple monster boyfriend—come across a fortress-like raider camp while journeying across the monster-infested Wastes, we stop to deliver a message.

Somehow, that simple pit stop turns into a seemingly impossible quest to get this camp's missing leader out of the prison where he's being held and forced to fight monsters and other humans. I know exactly where it is because I've been there.

Problem is, I'm making this journey with the prickliest and most arrogant guy I've ever met, who seems to hate me on sight. Oh, and he's also half-monster. So there's that. And he's in love with a raider who definitely does not love him back, and he seems determined to take it out on me. So there's also that.

I'm not going to rise to his childish insults and barbed words. I'm not. I'm also going to try very hard to ignore how mind-numbingly beautiful he is, even when he's scowling at me.

The longer we're out here together, the more I learn about my prickly half-monster companion Moth. I realize there's a reason he's so closed off and angry. There's a reason he hates everyone.

There are secrets he's been keeping, and when I find out what they are, I want to do everything in my power to help him—even though he's telling me he can't be helped.

Moth is book five of the Monstrous series, a post-apocalyptic m/m fantasy series that features monsters and human men falling in love. It is best to listen to the series in order.

Contains mature content.

one of my favourite Monstrous audiobooks

don't get me wrong, they're all brilliant, but this one and Edin are just special to me. Everything about the voice acting in this book is spot on. loved every second and will definitely be listening/reading again and again.

My favourite book and now audiobook

I've read the entire Monstrous series awhile back and was plesantly surprised to find recently that there were audiobooks too! I had to go to my favourite book of the series to hear the audio and it does not dissapoint. Michael Lesley nails the character voices for both Moth and Charlie (although i was not expecting(?) that kind of accent to be used for moth but i now feel it really suits him!~). Hearing little snippets of what the other characters in the book sound like (HELLO AURY!?!?!?) makes me want to go from the begining and listen to them all! It's a testament to not only Lily's amazing characters but Michael's narration too.

Another 5 star!!

I don’t know how Lily Mayne hits it out of the park every time! I cannot wait for Seraph to be released in audio, the little taste at the end was fantastic.

Moth and Charlie have my heart forever

This book single handedly pulls me out of any funk and I’m so in love with Moth and Charlie. I love all the books in this series, but Moth will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Lily Mayne for creating such a beautiful (and deliciously spicy) story and Michael Lesley for bringing it to life so perfectly

Addicted to Lily Mayne

Book 5 in the series had me listening into the wee hours of the morning. This book tugged at my heartstrings and I loved the innocence of Moth as he discovered love. Ms Mayne's world building and fantastic characters, both human and monster, is outstanding. Her writing bringing everything to life for the reader so that you feel like you're right there with them. Once again Michael Lesley gives an outstanding performance. His ability to give each character their own voice is a talent. An earlier character reminded me if Sean Connery, while another had the tone and cadence of Nicolas Cage. On to the next book.
