About this listen
Daniel Clark is the leader. The one who ensures everyone makes it out alive.
He took that responsibility seriously when he and his team served in the Navy SEALs together, and he takes it seriously now at the Resting Warrior Ranch.
When he and his men broke up the Riders—the vicious dogfighting gang who also kept some human captives—they got everyone to safety.
Except for the woman who’d been caged—Emma. She disappeared into the night.
So when she shows up in his tiny Montana town—in bad physical shape, begging not to be taken to the hospital—Daniel can’t believe it. He does the only thing he can: brings her home.
He’s a warrior, not a caregiver, but he’ll have to be both in this case. The people after her don’t just want to put her in a cage this time. They want her dead.
But if they want to get to Emma, they’re going to have to go through Daniel. And that’s not going to happen.

different suspense all round
what a brilliant series that interconnected stories in a book or 2.
Dan is a tall, responsible. quiet , and beautifully broken.
it was angst filled from the
get go. to bring emma in, answered my question, from Noah's book and then a new situation to delve into.
Emma is smart. sassy, and thankfully strong. just what Daniel needed . I didn't mind the age thing, besides emma is portrayed as an old soul type of woman.. which is a perfect fit for
Daniel .
loved the plotline. the emotions. the catch-up of favourites. and the pace. it slows a tad, but then it speeds up so as not t9 hey mundane.
great book. I'm going to miss it when it ends
Gideon does a wonderful narration of quiet. stoic Daniel.
Melissa is wonderful as a strong. yet gentle h. her voice doesn't whine, her dialogue of introspective thinking stays on point, and as her character describes, she doesn't fall to pieces, so the narrator was awesome enough to carry that description through.
I'm looking forward to the next novel
