About this listen
His only wish is to bring comfort to all, but others only recognize him for the pain his healing hands once caused.
Ryker Hayes is a licensed massage therapist, and a damn good one at that. It's a career he's passionate about, and all his plans for life are on track—until he winds up transported to the world of Werifesteria in the body of an infamous warlord, at least.
Now all he really wants to do is forget the misdeeds of his alter ego and retire to a life of anonymity with a couple interesting women as his new partners. Together, they open the very first massage inn and spa in all the land, and take on all the responsibilities that come with it. Turns out, it's a lot of work!
To reach his potential, he'll have to come to grips with the secrets of this mysterious world and the way its magic system functions. Can he find peace in the borderlands? Can he turn his Mastery of the Threads of Power into a fulfilling career as a masseur to the denizens of this fantasy world? And last, but certainly not least, how will he manage his increasingly complex relationships?

A fun book read by only decent voice actors
The book was great but I kind of wish the author went with podium audio for this one. All their voice actors are talented and experienced. These guys, though also talented with accents, seem not to have experience with the 'acting' part of voice acting. In tense scenes filled with emotion, the tone of the characters doesn't really suit the situation. Like the assassin elf character who was lost and desperate and nervous, sounded...calm when dialoguing with the mc.
The biggest sin of all was Samaya's accent. While the rest of the cast was fine, Samaya's personality is that of an airheaded dunce but adorable nonetheless...then why the heck does she sound like a person who is deaf and mentally disabled trying to talk? (no offence intended to deaf and mentally disabled people). It would be so much better if she sounded bubbly and high-pitched like that of Blossom from the author's other book series called "solar dragons need love too". Every time Samaya talks in the series I visibly cringe at their terrible accent choice for her. Almost makes it unlistenable- and that is the worse possible thing to do as an audiobook voice actor.
With any other accent for Samaya though, I would have given the performance rating a solid 4/5. With it, the most I can give is a 2.
