About this listen

Shifters, giants, hungry beasts, the undead, creatures of legend, flying terrors - you name it, New York City has it!

Through the Monster Hunt app, Chase Knowles becomes the Alpha of two powerful Huntresses: one a half-dragon female fond of combat and banter, the other a cute warrior fond of reading spell books and wielding two killer blades.

Their goal? Hunt these mythological creatures in the parks, rooftops, and back alleys of New York City; build a fighting party to compete in brawls and tournaments in the city and beyond; earn money; and try their damnedest not to get arrested.

Warning: Monster Hunt NYC contains a light harem with monster girls, augmented reality, fantasy violence, a ton of action, and GameLit/LitRPG concepts. It was inspired by the Persona games, Pokemon Go!, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Monster Hunt NYC

I have to said I'm a fan of Harmon Cooper books and this one no different. It shows us all how talented and skilled author is with the depth of this future NYC .

And with the voice acting talents and skills of Annie Ellicott and Jeff Hays . Who's narration makes the characters and world come alive.

And I love the music that's is playing in the background great work everyone

This book is a must to listen to and owned.

Loved it

This book is good. It had a sort of pokemon feel to it but different enough not to be the same. It was also very musical and had nice upbeat background music. The book left me feeling like I wanted more, it's a shame there is only 1 audio book in the series.
Jeff, Annie and team love your work as always. You guys bring the books to life... "To the green peace clan!!!"

Exceeded Expectation

I tried Monster Hunt NYC on a whim and pleasantly how good it was and how much I enjoyed the characters and story line. Although I have to say I always enjoy Harmon Cooper’s work and when combined with Soundbooth Theatre who’s performances are incredible, I just can’t stop listening until the end…

Great performance but too long for not much

It started off very well, with funny quips from the characters as the protagonist and his new warriors are introduced to each other. However, there seems to be too much small detail that are enacted and not enough actual story happened, so it was a bit of a waste of time. The narration was done very well.

Great performance, mediocre story

Love the narrators and soundbooth so was keen to try the book, but it fell flat. The characters felt poorly fleshed out, just carrying out the motions to move the story along. Kind of interesting premise but poorly executed, found it hard to trudge through when every fight seemed so easy and no real challenges to the protagonist. Glad it was a freebie as would definitely not spend a credit for this.

It’s entertaining but…

The production was rather good, the music was nice and the readers did a great job but… I don’t know if it’s the writing of the character or if it meant to be this way or just me but I keep getting the feeling that something is off with Iris which curbs my enjoyment of the book.
