About this listen

In a world full to bursting with would-be heroes, Jim couldn't be less interested in saving the day. His fireballs fizzle. He's awfully grumpy. Plus, he's been dead for about sixty years. When a renegade necromancer wrenches him from eternal slumber and into a world gone terribly, bizarrely wrong, all Jim wants is to find a way to die properly, once and for all.

On his side, he's got a few shambling corpses, an inept thief, and a powerful death wish. But he's up against tough odds: angry mobs of adventurers, a body falling apart at the seams—and a team of programmers racing a deadline to hammer out the last few bugs in their AI.

LitRPG fun

Yahtzee has a great sense of irony, sarcasm and store which abounds in this work. His characters are relatable and humorous while still being believable. This is a fun and lighthearted read which most people will enjoy.

Throw yourself off the tower one more time

Mogworld has a fantastic premise added to the litRPG genre that makes it stand out from its competition. The nihilism paired with Yahtzee's dry wit and colour descriptions paints a rather colourful world that is a joy to follow.

I would go onto recommend existentially challenged if you enjoyed this book as it feels almost like an evolution of this concept.

Great story

I love Yatzees writing! He's the best author that explores the difference between hero and protagonist and it makes all his characters feel funny and real... even if they are undead abominations. thanks for the great read!

The voice acting is unbearable.

The author seems to do okay for the most part and then he starts doing this thing where most of the characters voices finish on a high note. It's so bizarre, it's like everyone is asking a question. It is so grating and distracting I couldn't get through 3% of it before turning it off.

This will be the first book I request a refund for. Utterly unlistenable.
