plotline is awesome

I was so excited to see a new series by a new author and up till chapter 26 was really pulled in and intrigued by the writing. But then it spiralled down....the author built such tension and feeling in the hero and heroine (although I will say she has birdie falling over a lot,) that from chapter 26, all that tension and angst she had so cleverly created just switched off....
I was so frustrated. I really struggled to connect with the heroine after that, firstly, The concern for her much needed and loved bestie seemed to fall by the wayside, the steamy scene was written, most definitely at the wrong time in the book and the heroines train of thought, when in the direst of situations just was....gah!!!
I don't want to put in spoilers so I can't say too much.
But I will say the author did so well then sadly, changed the tempo at the most inconvenient time in the plot.
I loved the narrator's they are my faves.. and that helped the star count. I'm tempted to look at book 2 only because of them. Yet I don't want the disappointment of the tempo change to happen again.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
