Non una storia, un atlante o un manuale. Ma un viaggio, appunto, "sentimentale" per giunta, dove le tappe sono però suggerite da uno dei massimi poeti italiani, qui voce e guida d'eccezione. Il bagaglio è molto leggero, "da passeggiata", e l'occasione è quella di una "giocosa propedeutica", che nelle intenzioni dell'autore dovrebbe avere la "funzione che in cucina hanno gli aperitivi, ovverosia gli starters: cibi per cominciare, per aprire lo stomaco, nella speranza che il resto venga poi". Una raccolta che si rivolge a chi voglia ascoltare mille anni di versi in un pomeriggio.
