Publisher's Summary

The life and death of the legendary lead singer of INXS, as remembered by his sister Tina.

He died at only 37, but his fans are legion. INXS singer/songwriter Michael Hutchence was the celebrated front man of a band that was the biggest in the world.

Michael's big sister, Tina, adored him from the start. From a 12-year-old holding him in her arms as a newborn, to being his teenage nanny, Tina remained Michael's trusted confidante until his sudden death.

Tina's intimate and detailed telling of her brother's story - from faltering teenager with a lisp to raging rock star - blazes with love and adventure and includes the acquired brain injury that changed everything for Michael; the risky schemes that saw him named in the Paradise Papers expose of 2017; his secret philanthropy in support of East Timor; and his bliss at the birth of his only child, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily.

'My brother roamed the world with a book in his hand and one in his suitcase,' Tina writes, and throughout Michael a paper trail of the literature he loved gives clues to the man many see as an enigma.

A cry from the heart celebrating the 'lost boy of INXS', Michael Hutchence, this personal and heartfelt biography reveals the incredible roller-coaster life of Australia's most enduring superstar and shares the private moments of an adored brother, son and father.

I felt heart sick...

What a mysterious, other worldly prince Michael was. Thank you for so much, Tina, and big love from Australia.

Tender and touching

Loved it. If you were ever a fan then you should definitely read this. I felt privileged to be invited into the Hutchence family story. Nobody has been able to capture the truth and tenderness of Michael like his sister Tina has done here. It is definitely worth reading, if only to understand the humanity behind the headlines and hype.

Inside INXS

Whilst there’s a lot to like about a sibling’s inside knowledge on a person you’re a fan of, I wish I’d read the book myself rather than bought the audio book. Unfortunately, Tina’s reading of the book is like listening to Siri read a book. Buy the book rather than the audiobook and read it in your own voice.
