Publisher's Summary
Magic is her birthright....
The daughter of one of the strongest magical lineages, Ninian Malcom Siddons is a powerful witch. Determined to use her magic only for good, she lives a simple, solitary life as a healer in her village, where she meets Drogo.
A man of science doesn't believe in anything he can't see....
Lord Drogo Ives believes only logic and science can explain the wonders of the universe and doesn't believe the local folklore about Malcolm witches and Ives men - until he meets Ninian. Despite the odds against them and their (many) differences, the bond between Drogo and Ninian grows stronger each moment they are together...until the chaos and danger surrounding them forces each to decide: their love...or their lives....

Enjoyable
Well written with good themes and characters. Narrator's interpretation enhanced the story as it was read.

caught by surprise
not sure who the target audience is. I thoroughly enjoyed it. but was surprised at the in-depth and many explicit sex scenes. the devoted love is unrealistic. but I enjoyed it

Well worth listening to.
Took me a little to get into this one could’ve been the narrator not sure but once I got to a certain point, wow I became hooked. Loved the tension & connection between the main characters and the magical side to the story. I will definitely be listening to the next one.

Malcolm’s and Ives
The Malcolm’s are witches, and it’s rare for any of them to bear male children.
The Ives are logical, realists. It’s rare for them to sire female babies.
There is antipathy between the families and generations have warned them of marrying into either family.
Drogo, is the eldest of the current Ives and he came into his inheritance in his teens.
He has a large family of brothers and half brothers, that keep him very busy,
He also has family business interests, that are important to pay for education and the headaches his family put him through.
Ninian is a healer in the village.
She and Ninian become a couple. They go to London where Drogo has most of his business interests and Ninian has difficulty in making Drogo believe she needs to return to her home to have their child.

Enjoyable bodice ripper.
Recommend to all who love a little ‘witchery’. Interesting plot lines and well drawn characters, will definitely continue with the series.
