Publisher's Summary
Winner of The British Book Awards 2023 Overall Book of the Year
Menopause affects every woman, and yet so many approach it with shame, fear, misinformation or silence.
Why is no one talking about this? Who has the correct information? And how can we get it?
That’s how this book has come about. We are going to tell you the truth, so you can make an informed decision about your life and your body … mic drop.
For too long, women have had to keep quiet about the menopause – its onset, its symptoms, its treatments – and what it means for us. Menopausing will build an empowered, supportive community to break this terrible silence once and for all. By exploring and explaining the science, debunking damaging myths, and smashing the taboos around the perimenopause and menopause, this book will equip women to make the most informed decisions about their health… and their lives.
Menopausing will also celebrate the sharing of stories, enabling women to feel less alone and more understood, and talk openly and positively about menopause.
- No more scaremongering: just evidence-based info
- No shame: real women, real menopause stories, real empathy, real community
- Honest, no-holds-barred advice: Dry vagina? Zero sex drive? Hair loss? We’ve got it covered
- The start of a movement: to get everyone talking about the menopause in every home, GP surgery and workspace

Life changing
Thank goodness for this book. After chapter two I raced out to start my patch after sitting on the fence for two years. Great book that we must share with all our sisters and mature goddesses out there 💕

Thank you isn’t enough
I suspected that I was heading into perimenopause. But until listening to your book, I had no idea how much is was already in the thick of perimenopause and had affected my life.
For me it’s been a slow decline over the last 5 or so years. I’d put it down to running a business, kids going into adulthood, running a hobby farm, ageing parents the list goes on.
I’ve always been incredibly confident and can walk into any room and strike up a conversation with anyone. In my business I speak to CEOs, department heads and I’m often in a board room surrounded by upper management. Recently in one of those meetings, I totally and utterly went blank. Like nothing. Zero. I couldn’t even summon what company I was at. I had to excuse myself and race to the bathroom and I just stood with my head against the back of the stall door wondering what the…… was going on. I really thought that’s it I’m done, I’ve lost it.
This book has put everything into perspective. And in four days time I get to visit with my Gyno and we’re going to have a conversation about HRT and I’m excited.
My husband also listened to this book, to help better understand what was going on with me. At about the halfway point he rang me and said when I come home this afternoon I’m going to give you the biggest hug ever. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this.
If you are in perimenopause, menopause, know someone who is, suspect someone is, or you’re a human. You need to read this book.

A book everyone needs to hear
Not just for woman,it is for everyone. Menopause is a mystery of confusion, loss, and do much more, with little or no understanding or education in our lives to what it is and the extent to which it will affect all people. A must to hear,a must to read, a must to learn and this book delivers it all.

Giving a voice to peri menopause and menopause
This book has given me the confidence to speak up and share experiences with others. I am on a path of natural treatments at this point, now I feel well informed and capable of explaining to my dr what I need as I navigate this process.

If you are >35 years of age, you should read this book!
This book has changed my life! More people need to be talking about this and arming themselves with the info! I wish more GPs would be more informed about perimenopause and menopause rather than treating it as depression! This is a must read!

Empowered & Inspired
Davina & doctor Naomi have given me the tools and the power (knowledge) to go to my GP and have the discussion. To the story tellers thank you for giving real life examples about going through this. I found myself nodding along and tearing up throughout. We will get through this!
