About this listen

"What's so hard about pulling a sword out of a stone? The real work's already been done. You ought to make yourself useful and find the man who put the sword in the stone in the first place."

Fate is a word that springs to the lips when to call something coincidence seems mealy mouthed. Destiny is another such. But the problem with destiny is, of course, that she is not always careful where she points her finger. One minute you might be minding your own business on a normal, if not spectacular, career path; the next you might be in the frame for the big job. Like saving the world.

My Favourite Terry Pratchett Book

This is my all time favourite Terry Pratchett book. The characters have developed even further after the last couple of books and the city of Ank Morpork is as rich and vibrant as always. Terry as always has subverted traditional fantasy tropes in entertaining ways which I really appreciate. This is worth a read or listen for any Terry Pratchett fan.

don't purchase abridged version

love disc world books but was very disappointed with the abridged version, got this on paper as well as kindle and thought I would treat myself to this version on holiday , didn't realise it was abridged or that Tony Robinson was there narrator, teach me to read before I purchase, book doesn't need stupid voices for the character's, imagination is enough along with previous audio books tasters to paint the picture, not happy with this and it's going into my archives, wanted a book at least 9 hrs long not so as to build up the overall picture not a skimmed over one 3 hrs long ,
