A slow and steady recount of a tragic story

I hadn't heard of this story or the events surrounding the family. So I found it challenging to persevere with interest that I might otherwise have had if I had seen the tabloids. By the end though, it was clear this story was written for the author to process her own experience and it did a gentle and lovely job of that.
