About this listen

Darcy Silver has everything money can buy except for a way to erase the past. A tragic car accident has left her temporarily dependent on others for even the most basic of needs—but everyone she cares about seems to have abandoned her.

Dr. Andrea Trapani would like to forget the past too. Being a full-time medical caretaker for a cantankerous woman is not where she expected her career to take her. But when Andrea sees that Darcy's frustration will have serious medical consequences, she vows to bring peace and stability to Darcy's world.

As two wounded souls fight to overcome their past and face the fears of the future, will love be the right medicine?

Contains mature themes.

Heartbreak and love

The troubled and injured Darcy lives in NYC. When she is unable to look after herself, Andrea, a doctor, is hired to look after her and it’s a clash of wills from day one. With both arms and both legs in plaster it is not an easy path for them to fall in love. This is a sweet story with touching moments made more moving by listening to the narration of Lila Winters.

It was a struggle!

As this was a book by one of my favourite authors I bought it without hesitation! Buy boy was I on the struggle bus to finish it!

I found that one of the main characters did not have one endearing feature and the more I listened to the character the more I disliked her! She came across as sleazy and downright obnoxious! I kept waiting for her redemption and it never we came!

The other main character was likeable but damn did she cross professional boundaries that that no send respecting doctor would cross! And I’m sorry but as if a cardio thoracic surgeon would allow an ER Dr into the operating room to profess her love for the obnoxious patient! Not to mention that this apparently ‘saved’ said obnoxious patient from dying! I wasnt feeling any sort of empathy and really didn’t care if that patient lived or died!

Ive never disliked a main character as much as I disliked this one!

The narration wasn’t great but it wasnt atrocious!…but that could just be me!

I’ll listen to more of this author but I really cannot recommend this book!
