7YR OLD STEP-GRAND DAUGHTER'S 1ST AUDIO BOOK
I gave Matilda (the book) and the audio book along with an iPod to my 7 yr old step-granddaughter for Christmas. She knew the story of Matilda but didn't have the book herself so I thought I would get her both the book and the audio book too. It was her first experience with an audio book and I encouraged her to read-along with the book and audio. She loved it. She said the lady (Kate Winslet) reading the story to her is very good and her voice is lovely. I think audio books, along with the physical book is a great way to encourage children to read. Hopefully she'll be like me and love her audio books and have a vast collection like I do.

The best combination
The story is as perfect as always, but the thing that shines the most is Kate Winslet's accent work. Every character is distinct, and each character accent does not bleed into the narrator's voice at all. I finally understand why Kate Winslet has like eight Oscar nominations, I really understand now.

Lovely
The cutest book and most marvelous performance. English is my second language and I hadn't had the opportunity of indulging myself in Roald Dahl's world as a child or a youngster. I am in heavens now!

Just wonderfull. Enthralled fun. Voices fitted characters beautifully. Just as my imagination would So much fun.
Recommend to the young and the young st heart
You can see little Matilda in your minds eye. Wonderfull story.

Kate Winslet's storytelling is fantastic
Kate's narration is absolutely brilliant. She gave so much life and personality to each character, made it such a joy to listen to! One of my favourite childhood stories.

Kate Winslet gives a really good performance
Kate Winslet performs the book in a very entertaining fashion, presenting a myriad of voices complete with British accents and a lot of energy. Was a pleasure to listen to and went by too quickly.

Great rendition but terrible audio quality.
