this book is a cute read. almost a modern day retelling of beauty and the beast but there are dark dangerious secret socities, crazy mothers and desperate ppl willing to do desperate things for money. for some, love wont come in a gift box with a bow- for others, it cones as a shock when they discover they prefer sadistic sexual plessure. not 50 shades of grey. darker less sex more emotional honesty and sexual exploration....i loved it.

I admit I love anything Kerri Lake, but this one is beautiful. a wonderfully weaved story of the tragic nature of love and life. well written with brilliant imagery and descriptions, great character development and woled building. performance was engaging and truly well done 🥰

I still don't know how I feel about this story due to how dark and messed up it was. Was I sucked in by the suspense and intrigue? 100% yes!

I found myself fat forwarding through some of these scenes because well it broke me for what both characters went through and because I found it really messed up. I'm glad they got their happy ending but I was curious to know what the future held for them.

Lucian was at his core a good guy but because of his upbringing and secret society well the mentally illness sufferer in me howled at what they did to him.

I think if this book hadn't been so dark and twisted I could've really gotten into it. Not sure if I'm game to try other books by this author.

Rollercoaster of a story but where are the TW?!

When I began reading this book, I truly thought that it would be a little kinky, but still a fun story to read. I was very mistaken. It is a lot more intense and has a lot more now disturbing acts in it than any of the other reviews, I’ve read or the synopsis suggests. Particularly Lucien’s flashbacks. Read with discretion. I made it to chapter 21 before I couldn’t handle it anymore.
