Mesmerising

Marking Time is a very entertaining story, brilliantly read by the late Jill Balcon. I am impressed by the way she is able to convey the voices of the different characters, who are entirely believable. The atmosphere of life in England in this epoch is very convincing.

I made the mistake of reading the book Casting Off and then buying the earlier audio book, which led to confusion. The Cazalet Chronicles should be read in chronological order!

This audio book would appeal to anyone who enjoys Elizabeth Jane Howard's works.
