It's literally sections from the complete Adult course with a focus on some of the "easier" phrases.
I had enjoyed the complete course and was hoping this book could be an entry point for my kids to start learning Mandarin.
Unfortunately it seems that the "kids" they're referring to are most likely teens.
The content is still good and you will be able to learn some Mandarin words & phrases but for the cost of this stripped down version you'd be better off getting the complete course.
