I love stories. I have mostly told other people's but now, in telling my own, I realize how all our stories are connected by that great leveller of acclaim, loss, fortitude, and fortune: being human.
When I look at my life from the alleged halfway point, some patterns are revealed: one, that the story does not necessarily begin or end where it should; two, happy endings are overrated. And three, happy endings are almost never the end.
This book is memoir-ish. A tell-most. Largely because there's a lot I don't remember, and a lot that's not worth talking about.
So, this is a collection of stories about how things not working out - worked out in the end. How reaching for the dream is easily more interesting, expansive, sad and funny than the dream itself coming true.

I found this surprisingly honest, eloquent and funny. A refreshing and poignant memoir. Minnie is an absolute delight to listen to.

Endearing to the end
I found this autobiography thoroughly interesting and deeply endearing. Minnie is a true gem to listen to, not only is she laugh out loud funny but so sincere in her honesty of herself and others. This audiobook is definitely on my repeat list.

So funny and insightful!
I enjoyed every moment - so glad that I listened to the audiobook. She tells her story with so much humour and sincerity, I don’t think the voice in my head while reading the book could do it justice.

Really enjoyable - written like a story being told
I devour biographies and memoirs, and i remember minnie fondly from Gross point blank etc and more recently a really excellent episode of Modern Love on Prime so i thought i would give this a go.
Really enjoyable, i felt transported in her childhood stories and really wish she would do a Caitlin Moran and turn them into YA - Minnie has a gift for writing!
Beautiful relaxing emotionally charged audio would recommend

Marvellous Minnie
I really loved this book. In the movies we get to know her characters but in this book we get to know Minnie. I really enjoyed this highly personal performance.

Absolutely loved it
Total quality. Loved Minnie’s voice and voices. Comic timing is absolutely on point and hilarious. Beautiful stories and I’d love another book quite frankly.

Fantastic
This is a wonderful memoir to read, full of warmth and humour. The stories she tells are so rich and well written and show the real strength behind her success. Loved the book.

The girl can write!
This is a wonderful memoir that reads like fictional story you can’t stop listening to. Also, Minnie is hilariously. Highly highly recommend.
