A powerful and thought-provoking account

From a storytelling perspective, I have never come across a book so powerful and thought-provoking. It is a powerful story of tragedy, despair, and destruction but ultimately a story of hope, compassion, and forgiveness with Simon's life having profound parallels to Jesus's life. Johan Nel's narration brings the characters to life wonderfully. He truly carries across the emotions of all the characters. This account of Simon of Cirene's life is beautifully told with sensitivity and grace.
