About this listen
Are you struggling to figure out who you are now that you’re a mama? Do you feel like you’re coming last in your own life? Do you feel guilty for not loving every moment of this motherhood gig?
As someone who used to put themselves last - doing everything she thought was "right" for her children and family, but not really listening to what her body and her spirit was begging for - Amy understands firsthand the overwhelm and complex range of emotions that mothers face. Amy’s background as a journalist set her on the path to uncover all that she could about the latest research on matrescence, the transition a woman undergoes when she becomes a mother. She now shares what she’s learned in the hope that it will help you navigate this stage of your life.
Mama Rising includes interviews with experts, case studies and Amy’s own tried-and-tested advice on how to reconnect with the woman you are underneath all that washing, cleaning, and caring. Full of useful and empowering insights that will help you change the way you feel about motherhood - and yourself - so you and your whole family can flourish.

Finally a name for what Mums are going through
Thank you for giving a name to help us understand what we are going through. An excellent book about understanding, accepting and celebrating the waves and spirals we ride as mothers.

To be shared by the sisterhood
Thank you Amy for sharing this profound message. This book is a wonderful reflection of women and the confrontation into motherhood. Something that most women have felt, but have not quite been able to articulate. Thank you Amy, for finding the words. A story to be shared by the sisterhood 🙏🏼✨

A profound and beautiful read
I seriously recommend this book. Such a profound insight into the challenges that come with the transition to motherhood - within the new self that emerges, changes in your marriage and loss of friendships once formed, among endless other things, and in some ways, a life you had mapped out so perfectly becomes anything but. Love the discussion of “matrescence”, I often found myself in tears listening to the author speak as it so closely resonates with my own experience, struggling to maintain the life/career goals and relentless expectations of oneself. It really hit home in so many ways, gave me a whole new perspective on my marriage as well and how I see/speak to my husband. It at times was heart breaking to hear the words I’ve so very longed to believe about myself (and my husband). But this has helped me believe in myself. Thank you for a beautiful insight & perspective on motherhood, femininity/masculinity & self discovery.
