Publisher's Summary
From the best-selling author of The Fish That Ate the Whale, Sweet and Low, and Tough Jews comes Make Your Own Mistakes, a candid, short memoir that chronicles Rich Cohen’s transition to young adulthood in New York City and beyond. Both amusing and thoughtful, this is the story of Rich’s quest to lead a life outside the confines of his father’s dream for him. His father’s tough love and unsought guidance collides with the resistance of Rich’s youth, bringing forth crucial lessons that where you choose to live can define your existence, that you should be happy with unhappiness, and that in life you must always move forward.

A great listen
I loved this story. It felt nostalgic and also relatable: a tale of excitement and youth in a city of stories and dreams. And, also, a tale of growing up and moving beyond the city in search of space to raise a family. I loved the author's honesty; and the themes of property prices, boom, bust, privelege, and striving. A story about New York. But, also, about the pull of all world cities.
