About this listen

Clara Tempest in is trouble. Widowed and in debt...a lot of debt, she is all but imprisoned by her creditors. And the biggest shock of her life comes: she is sold off to become a mail order bride for a cowboy.

Clara is informed of her husband's debt before the grave diggers have even had time to fill up the grave with dirt. She finds herself having to work off the impossibly large debt or face debtor's prison. She was all but imprisoned anyway.

Then she is packed away out west, to become a mail order bride. Her debt is paid off, with a nice profit for her creditors.

When she arrives, she finds that the cowboy wasn't expecting her at all, and it was his mother that had done the buying. Charles, the rancher, is not happy about the situation at all. But he senses Clara has a secret that she is hiding....
