About this listen
The witness-protection program has given me the fresh start of which I've always dreamed. A new home. A new name. A new life. For the first time in 10 years, it feels like I can breathe again.
But the cost of freedom is more than I bargained for. I put my foster father behind bars. It doesn't matter that he deserved it. What matters is that he's powerful, manipulative, and now, he wants me dead.
I can feel someone watching me. I know my time is running out. The only other person who cares if I live or die is a masked stranger. So I'm putting my life in the vigilante's hands - and maybe a piece of my heart along with it. Even though I'm worried that he's just as dangerous as the man I sent to prison.

keep an open mind
I am a huge fan of Ivy's, even though i have only read/listened to a few of her series. her range of genres in writing is wide. this suspense book I was unsure about starting due to the reviews, but the reviews left I realised are more about personal preferences in writing styles rather than the actual book.
there's alot of back and forth with the fmc between her mind and her reality and it does get repetitive, but as the book goes on, you realise it's a big I sight to her coping mechanism and how her mind works given the trauma she has suffered at the hands of her 'foster carers'
the story really gets you thinking, the more it goes on the more your mind starts ticking over and listening for the little hints about how the other characters fit in, and whether her pyscy is playing games with hers and your mind. the book leaves you with no clue on who to trust leaving you feeling excited about the next steps in her life, even though it finished in a cliff hanger. I cannot wait to start the second book and see what more we find out about her and her past and also how the other character in this book really fit in and whether they are there to help or hinder her.

Ends in a cliffhanger
Not my usual trope, I like my female characters to be strong and decisive, storyline had me intrigued but I hate books that end in a cliffhanger, undecided if I’ll read the next book.

Really not great.. narrator isn’t good. Story was ok
I read the Hunted Series and I enjoyed it. But this book was kind of annoying. It might have been the narrator she wasn’t great at differentiating between gene character voices. Sadie also is really unlikable to me. She kept repeating the same thing over and over and she was whiney I just didn’t like her at all.
