About this listen

Get Mad: The Complete Series.

Special edition bundle. Three books. Hours and hours of fun, apocalyptic LitRPG, featuring mad scientist powers, along with plenty of laughs. Oh, and killer aliens. Lots of 'em.

I was in my garage, when the space elves addressed the whole world.

They didn't call themselves space elves, of course. Most humans struggled to pronounce Khjurhnalva, so we opted for the easier version. They had a message for us: Forces that had eradicated their species' males were now heading for Earth.

Hungry for our resources, the alien hordes annihilate everything that stands in their way. The space elves offered us access to the System and asked for very little in return. After all, cooperation was vital to the survival of both our species.

I, Mathew Alexander Dunphy, know all of the above is bullshit. I saw the truth with my own eyes and heard it from their beautiful, delicate, deceitful mouths. No one believes me, though. They call me mad.

What reason could the space elves have to lie?

A planet-wide survival reality show? Ridiculous.

Simple yet elegant.. This was an easy listen.. Good character building with a fairly solid story line.

I enjoyed it.

Worth a listen? yeh
It's alright. if you enjoyed this you will really love Dungeon Crawler Carl, scratched that litrpg itch between matt dinneman books, but this series is nice easy listening and stands on its own merits.

How does it balance?
they're not invincible and bad stuff happens.
This series doesn't stand up to heavy analysis. but that's not why your interested in this book so shush.

I really liked that it wasn't a crazy sex obsessed power trip like most lit rpgs are falling into.
That said the power scaling of the characters at times feels like they scale too fast. one fight a elite is a big battle, the very next chapter they are slaughtering multiple in one hit KO's and hunting emperors. They're definitely rushing and that makes sense in the story line, but it still feels a bit forced at times.

it shard to write fight scenes and and hard to write tragedy. book is top 20% of lit rpg books.

if you liked this listen to Dungeon Crawler Carl
