About this listen
Mac Danger is a 1930s-style private eye in a modern world. He’s a tough-talking, no-nonsense kind of discount detective—solving mysteries to make rent, and sometimes having to restrain himself from getting physical with his clients who have—let’s call them, issues. Danger Is his middle name—and his last name, too. You can look it up on his birth certificate. Mac Danger Danger. Kids made fun of him in school because of it. During every PTO conference, he wanted to punch his parents in the face.
Mac is the kind of guy that every man wants to be—after Tom Brady. And he’s the kind of guy that every woman wants to be with—at least in his mind. Contained within this sandwich of newsprint, ink, and glue, is a trilogy—that means three—of Mac Danger’s most recent, if not spellbinding, at least thoroughly spellchecked interactions with people who sought out his services. These are their short stories. There are no pictures or pabulum to sugar-coat the truths of what you are about to hear. I searched online for some to include with the words, but they were out of stock.
The world is a funny place. Just look around you. It’s inhabitants range from outright dumb and manipulated, to freethinkers like Einstein. Both—and all in between—a source of comedy gold! I just gathered as much of it as I could for this book. Don’t worry; there’s still plenty left for you to write your own. The following is a lot like the stuff we used to write and perform at Central Michigan University on the college radio station. I seem to remember a Howard B Kazlo Half-a-Comedy Hour—which actually ran a few seconds over 30 minutes, and thus, we were not able to back-time it to hit the top-of-the-hour and ABC News. Later, this type of writing and performing could be found on the Rick Archambault Show on 1330 AM in the Flint, Michigan, area in the '70s or '80s. I forget which decade.
