About this listen

It’s a beautiful day on Brooklyn Street, and Mr. McPherson is out delivering the mail. He really enjoys his job and knows every family on the street, including their children and dogs.

When Mr. McPherson walks up Ruth Wallace’s steps, he realizes something is wrong. Mrs. Wallace’s dog Sadie is barking much more than normal. He looks in and sees that Mrs. Wallace has fallen.

While she goes to the hospital, someone must take care of Sadie, and Mr. McPherson agrees to look after her. He lives alone and has never had a dog before, but very soon, the two of them get used to each other and form a small family.

What will they do when it’s time to say good-bye and Sadie has to go back to Mrs. Wallace?

In this children’s story, a mailman helps take care of a dog with a hurt owner and discovers that he needs the love of a dog in his life.
