About this listen
Hosea has been charged by God with a difficult task-marry a prostitute in order to show God's people the nature and depth of his love for Israel. When Hosea goes to Israel to proclaim God's message, the prostitute God tells him to marry turns out to be his childhood friend Gomer. He finds her broken and abused, unwilling to trust Hosea or his God. But when marrying Hosea becomes her only choice, Gomer does what she's good at - she survives. Can Hosea's love for God and God's love for Israel heal Gomer's broken spirit?
With her potent combination of in-depth research and masterful storytelling, Mesu Andrews brings to life a complex and fascinating biblical story of the power of love and forgiveness in the face of utter betrayal.

Great story
I loved the way the author built her story faithfully around the Scriptures and the history & culture of the times. I don’t recall anything that I disliked. Good & interesting character development. Anyone who enjoys sound, clean and thought provoking historical novels are in for a treat.

Nourishment for the Heart
I love this book so much. Thank you Mesu for helping set the scene of Israel and Judah in the time of the biblical prophets, and for your beautiful portrayal of Gods love for Israel, and his people as seen through the story of Hosea and Gomer.

So many truths found within this sensitive story
I particularly liked the paragraph which said He came into my darkness when I was too afraid to walk into his light. Also the complete picture of what is happening now is not always revealed to us.Faith steps in as we trust God knows the complete picture where we may wonder why?
