About this listen
Following an alcohol-induced, relationship-combusting one-night stand, Isabelle Beckett finds herself suddenly single. Caught up in her big-city career with an art auction house, her life is an enviable whirl of glamorous gallery openings, avant-garde ironing boards, and once-in-a-lifetime discoveries. That is, until Isabelle faces the fact that being single in a strange city is an experience for which she is quite unprepared.
Forced to contend with hostile taxi drivers, fanged spiders in the shower, and the humiliation of being discovered by her latest crush in a wetsuit-tutu combo, she struggles to retain her dignity and belief in romantic destiny. And then, just when she seems to be regaining control of life, Isabelle finds herself on the hit list of a Serial Dater.

Love it
I love this story, its very witty and feels truly Australian. I also think the narrator does a wonderful job.

Pretentious and not romantic.
I tried to get through this. It was excrutiating and I had to rewind as I was drifting off. No romance appeared up until Chapter 15 of 20.
The title is misleading unless it relates to the main character's inability to look at love with maturity.
The main character was confusing. Well articulated art dealer, using long sentences and deep theories, was at odds with her ridiculous immaturity bordering on childishness.
The attempt at wit only highlighted the author's sarcasm toward ... well everything ... observations about Sydney v Melbourne, (and getting "the rest of Australia" wrong btw) is not entertaining. As a WA born mature lady, well travelled, I found a lot of this book insulting and immature. Putting people and places into pigeon-holes and degrading them is not my idea of comedy or romance.
When she mentioned cats, I was out of there and didn't wait to find out what happened. Author has no idea what she's talking about, just offered another narrow minded opinion to add more sarcasm to her story.
Getting my money back on this one.
