About this listen
THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
The one and only autobiography by the iconic Lucille Ball, hailed by TV Guide as the “#1 Greatest TV Star of All Time.”
Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.
The story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. In her own inimitable style, she tells of their life together—both storybook and turbulent; intimate memories of their children and friends; wonderful backstage anecdotes; the empire they founded; the dissolution of their marriage. And, with a heartfelt happy ending, her enduring marriage to Gary Morton.
Here is the lost manuscript that her fans and loved ones will treasure. Here is the laughter. Here is the life. Here’s Lucy...
“The comic actress in her own words…intensely moving.” —San Francisco Chronicle

I love Lucy now too!
Had relatively low expectations only knowing bits of her life from re-runs of the I Love Lucy show in the 80s however this book blew me away! Super interesting life story and love the fact that the narrator is her daughter, it feels like its delivered by Lucy herself. Growing through a time of such massive change and being open about the state of her emotions was fascinating. Highly recommend.

So good
This is a fantastic book that I really enjoyed. I remember as a kids watching the ‘I love Lucy’ Show and this took me right back. It is brilliantly read by Lucy and Desi’s daughter who sounds a lot like her and makes the book extra special.

A great story of a wonderful person
You're left feeling like you've just met a really beautiful person. Caring, energetic, resilient, courageous - I could go on. And the words were written by Lucille herself. The book was read by her daughter, and it started off badly. But as the book moved on she found her voice and it was fine. Her Spanish accent was excellent - clearly she'd had a lot of exposure to Desi Arnez. A great read and definitely inspiring.

What a treat!
Such a privilege to listen to the actual words of the legend herself. And so special to have Lucie read her mum’s words. Talk about entertaining and a real insight. Loved every second, what a treasure! Highly recommended.

What a Powerhouse of a Woman
You never know which books are going to resonate with you. The narrator brought life to her mothers words. It was amazing to hear about the hurdles that Lucille Ball overcame. I’m going to remember her attitude and ability to roll with the punches that life gives.
