Linda Marigliano has built a career out of performing for other people. In her day-job as an on-air presenter or in her family home, she contorted herself into 'the cool girl' or 'the good girl', and struggled to ever truly switch off.
As she repeatedly over-committed and sought approval in all its guises, she started to ask herself: Why am I like this? Combing through her complex relationship with her mother, the sense of duty within her extended Italian and Chinese-Malaysian families, and the twisting turns of both her career path and her love life, she noticed a pattern emerging.
Her love language had warped into acts of service that pleased everyone but herself, without boundaries or exceptions. And she'd lost the ability to translate the vocabulary of love being spoken all around her.

Fabulous
Loved the brave and raw approach to Linda’s story. So relatable. Narration was fabulous. Just couldn’t stop listening. Beautiful ending.

So unique, so relatable, so so good.
Please read this book. The honesty and authenticity that Linda writes (and speaks) with is so special. Her story is so unique and yet so entirely relatable. Hands up all you fellow reforming perfectionists 🙋🏻♀️

Like a warm hug

Comforting like a Nonnas Love
LOVE. This audio book left a profound impact on me as it delved into the powerful influence of an Italian upbringing and how it’s seen in actions both within and out of the home. It artfully unraveled the rawness and wildness that arise from everyday encounters, illuminating the intricate connections between cultural roots and personal choices. The exploration of the "yes person" phenomenon, where our cultural background shapes the partners we choose versus those we truly deserve, struck a chord within me. Linda's narration, with her captivating voice brings genuine understanding, and brought this piece to life in a way that no one else could. It’ll have you wanting to call your nonna right away. Beautiful
I listened to this in less than 24 hours during a long car trip. Totally worth it & makes me love Linda even more. Really enjoyed learning about the cultural differences in her family & the battle of long distance love. So beautiful spoken, Linda. Thanks for this warm hug in an audio book xxx
