About this listen
New York Times best-selling author Tessa Bailey returns with a unique, sexy romantic comedy about a young married couple whose rocky relationship needs a serious renovation....
Rosie and Dominic Vega are the perfect couple: high school sweethearts, best friends, madly in love. Well, they used to be, anyway. Now, Rosie’s lucky to get a caveman grunt from the ex-soldier every time she walks in the door. Dom is faithful and a great provider, but the man she fell in love with 10 years ago is nowhere to be found. When her girlfriends encourage Rosie to demand more out of life and pursue her dream of opening a restaurant, she decides to demand more out of love, too. Three words: marriage boot camp.
Never in a million years did Rosie believe her stoic, too-manly-to-emote husband would actually agree to relationship rehab with a weed-smoking hippie. Dom talking about feelings? Sitting on pillows? Communing with nature? Learning love languages? Nope. But to her surprise, he’s all in, and it forces her to admit her own role in their cracked foundation. As they complete one ridiculous - yet surprisingly helpful - assignment after another, their remodeled relationship gets stronger than ever. Except just as they’re getting back on track, Rosie discovers Dom has a secret...and it could demolish everything.

Mixed
Really enjoyed the story, but found the sex scenes very (extremely) raunchy. Not sure the author ever explained why their style was integral to the plot or their relationship development.

I loved it even more then the first in the series!
Much like the first one ‘fix her up’ I absolutely loved it. In fact I think I loved this one even more. This book was so unique to any other second change romance I’ve read. There was so much love, emotion and passion. So much so that I struggled to see why it had gone so wrong for them in the first place.
The book was really well written and even though it was heavy with heartbreak, it was still so enjoyable to read their journey back to each other. It was very much so a ‘not what it seems’ kind of book for me. It didn’t play out how I thought it would at all. The issues they faced were genuinely relatable long term relationship problems that had just gotten away from them. It honestly was food for thought for me. I even learnt about different love languages!
I adore all the characters in this series and I am so keen to get started on ‘tools of engagement’ next. I usually get bored with stand alone series quickly… not necessarily because the plots don’t appeal but more so because I feel committed to too much and need a break from the world of that particular series. Don’t come for me, I know that’s weird! However I was so keen to jump from book to book with the ‘hot and hammered’ series.
This story was seriously beautiful. Especially if you love the ‘childhood soulmate/it’s you, it’s only ever going to be you/possessive & dominant alpha male who’s literal whole world revolves around the love of his life’ tropes… then this gem is for you!
Charlotte North nails this too! I love how she puts on a subtle unique voice for every character including there accents. She’s amazing.

A lovely different take on a romance
I really enjoyed the take on making a marriage work and how to find each other again when daily life can end up misdirecting all well-intentioned decisions. The characters were very easy to identify with.

An Uncomfortable Listen
I’ve read/listened to many of Tessa Bailey’s books but found Love Her or Lose Her uncomfortable. Dominic gave me the heebie jeebies. His character seemed borderline abusive. Also the constant reminiscing about the sex they had as teenagers was weird.
Overall I found the book distasteful even for this genre of text which is gloriously cringeworthy by nature.
