About this listen
Stacy Pershall grew up as an overly intelligent, depressed, deeply strange girl in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, population 1,000. From her days as a 13-year-old Jesus freak through her eventual diagnosis of bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, this spirited memoir chronicles Pershall's journey through hell and her struggle with the mental health care system.

A Must-Read. Truly Beautiful.
Thank you Stacey for writing this book. It's the only work I've read as a Borderline, by a Borderline, and so much of my life and memories finally make sense. I can't fully express the gift you have given the world and to all Strange Girls like me, to families and communities affected by mental illness. With all my heart, thank you.
