About this listen

You shared a secret with the wrong person.

Janey Markham is thrilled to be moving with her family to Buckingham Crescent, the smartest address in a desirable suburban town.

Worried she’ll be excluded by the glossy local mothers, Janey is thrilled when she meets Tanya, the kind of woman she has always looked up to. Tanya takes Janey under her wing and her teenage daughter, Angel, is amazing with Janey’s little boy. As Janey and Tanya grow closer, Janey feels she can finally leave her troubled past behind.

But then everything changes....

In a weak moment over a bottle of wine, Janey finds herself telling Tanya her most shocking secret. Why wouldn’t she trust her new friend?

The following day, Janey sees Angel, with a man old enough to be her father, pushing someone into a car. The next day a body is found, and police appeal for witnesses - and share a picture of the same car....

When Janey tells Tanya she is going to the police, Tanya turns threatening. She’ll stop at nothing to defend Angel, even if her daughter is guilty. If Janey says anything, Tanya will make sure that her dark secret gets out. Janey faces an impossible choice. Stay quiet about what she saw that terrible day or speak up and destroy the family she has worked so hard to protect....

From million-copy best seller K.L. Slater comes this twisty and absolutely gripping roller-coaster ride of a listen. Fans of The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl will be totally hooked on Little Whispers.

Enjoyed this one

Had to persevere at the start but it definitely improved. Didn't see the twist until the end.

Little whispers, Big lies.

Little Whispers was one of the most enthralling suspense thrillers that i have read in a while, there was a tad too much detail that probably wasn't necessary but even still it was interesting and added to the story.

The ending wasn't what i expected at all, a very good twist indeed. It was just what the story needed. It was refreshing to see not everyone was forgiven and everything wrapped up in a bow, for once even the so called good guys paid the price for their part in this twisted plot line. Recommend reading.

Good storyline

From the start to finish the story was interesting and kept you wondering what was going to be the ending . The storyline made me think that ending would be more about the kidnapping SO the actual ending was surprising and good.
Definitely a good listen and I really enjoyed the narrator once again.

So disappointed

I love KL Slaters books but this one just didn’t do it for me. It was so slow but I pushed through. It got better towards the end but then turned bad again.

Kept me hanging until the end

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It has many twists & turns which held my attention. Slater has shown her immense talent in this ‘can’t-put-down’ story. Now to catch up on some sleep!

Hmmm - not as good as usual

I’m afraid I found this book rather annoying. It was sort of ‘over written’ with quite exaggerated speech and somewhat one dimensional characters.

Great narration , entertaining characters and a satisfying story!!
It was an easy, enjoyable story and even though I thought I had it figured out at one point , the end was still deliciously surprising!!
Can definitely recommend.

Suspense to the very end. Well written and wonderfully narrated. Great story. Could be a true story in this era of internet.

Intriguing as always!

I love the way I never quite figure out all of the pieces until the unveiling at the end. Such fantastic writing!
