About this listen
"Take my hand, little one."
Fran finds her standing by the swings. A little girl, Esther, no older than seven years old, by herself in the dead of night, her pretty but old-fashioned yellow dress covered in grass stains and her hair dishevelled. She says she's waiting for Father, and that strikes Fran as particularly odd.
After Esther is reunited with her family, Fran can't stop thinking about this pious child whose imaginary friend is God. Fran's instincts tell her something is very wrong. Why does Esther keep running away from home, and how did she get that bruise on her leg?
Fran's husband warns her not to get too close, but one morning, Esther and her family disappear. Where did they go? Why did they leave their furniture behind?
Fran knows in her gut that something terrible is going to happen to that child, and she can't stand by while it happens. No matter the cost.
After all, she found her. But can she save her?

Another good one from Sarah A. Denzil!
Without giving too much away, Little One is initially a slow burn, though picking up speed midway and making you wonder where this story is going. It was well narrated by Claire Storey, and I was shocked near the end as I didn't see THAT bit coming. Well worth a read, or a listen 👍

⭐⭐⭐
Sarah A. Denzil is a fantastic story teller. If you loved this book I can not recommend Silent Child and Poison Orchids enough. (written with Anni Taylor who is also a great Australian author)
As far as Little One goes I was really into it for the first 40% then found it a little slow, but really appreciated the short chapters as it may it easier to get through.

Great storyline with a few wee twists
I really enjoyed this book and my first one by Sarah A Denzil. I I will be looking out for more penned by her too. If you enjoy stories about children, cults, and crime then this is for you. An easy listen and enjoyable narration.

Disappointing
I’ve enjoyed Sarah Denzil’s books before but I’m unable to finish this. The story is quite ridiculous, not believable and wouldn’t be interesting even if it were believable. Have given up with 3 hrs to go
