About this listen
Polly Waterford is recovering from a toxic relationship. Unable to afford their flat, she has to move miles away from everyone, to a sleepy little seaside resort in Cornwall, where she lives alone above an abandoned shop. And so Polly takes out her frustrations on her favourite hobby: making bread.
But what was previously a weekend diversion suddenly becomes far more important as she pours her emotions into kneading and pounding the dough, and each loaf becomes better and better. With nuts and seeds, olives and chorizo, with local honey (courtesy of local bee keeper, Huckle), and with reserves of determination and creativity Polly never knew she had, she bakes and bakes and bakes.... And people start to hear about it. Sometimes, bread really is life...and Polly is about to reclaim hers.

Charming Little Beach House
Light and easy, peppered with romance and highlighting that it is possible to begin again, under your own terms. Anne-Marie Piazza's voice is soothing and articulate - an enjoyable audio book. Loved the puffin too!

Charming story, good narration, but lacking depty
What did you like best about Little Beach Street Bakery? What did you like least?
The story started out well, but didn't really gain much momentum. It wasn't terrible, but it was just okay. I didn't really identify with the characters and thought they lacked depth.
I liked the narrator, although she wasn't excellent at the American accent for the character of Huckle.

lovely story
beautifully woven, reminiscent of Nina George Little Breton Bistro and Little Paris Bookshop, so I really enjoyed it. The dubbing or editing of the audiobook seems to be a little choppy in places, not enough to distract you from the story, just something I noticed. The Narrator did wonderfully, with the accents and voices.

Good Bread Cures All
This is a charming book, which takes some unexpected turns (for a romance). The narrator, whilst fine for the British accents, could not pull off the American accent. However, this is only a minor quibble and I will definitely be purchasing the sequel.

Gorgeous Read
Such a heartwarming book. Anything Cornish like this is right up my alley, as it reminds me of my dad. Loved the narration as each character was bought to life by the change in accent and tones. overall, a lovely book, looking forward to upcomimg books set at Mount Polbearne.

Fabulous Storyline! Wonderful Narrator!
Loved this book! I was hooked from the first chapter and absolutely adored going on journey of laughs, tears and smiles with Polly and all her friends (even the not-so friendly ones).

sweet!
A happy book, but not a Mary Sue. I liked the setting and the plotline, and the people were likable in a realistic way. (You know - you don't like all your neighbours, that would be way too Teletubbies. But they all have a place in your community.) And the puffin was way cute.

Feel good story
Loved the story, and the narrator has a beautiful English voice. Could just about excuse the American accent, but the Kiwi accent (New Zealand) was unforgivable....
