About this listen
Richie Cathar’s father, Alaric, was a renaissance man: an intellectual, explorer, archaeologist, and historian. He was also a fantasist, absentee parent, and drug abuser.
Alaric named his son after Richard, Coeur de Lion, but left him only conflicting memories when he died. Now Richie is in search of his own role.... Following his father’s trail to the Holy Land to research the Art of the Medieval Latin Kingdom, Richie’s quest is to uncover the fate of Christianity’s most sacred relic and the truth about his father.

The desciption can lead you astray
The description of the book, supported with where I found it in the search engine of Audible, led me to believe this was a book about the time of Richard I. Some mention of its modern setting would have steered me away. Given that, I gave it a try but couldn't get past the 1st person "I am walking up the Banbury Road to the FedEx depot in Summertown" ...
Ryan Williams wrote a encapsulating review at http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17978235-lion-heart ... his "There's a simple test regarding how likely you are to enjoy the fiction of Justin Cartwright. It goes like this." hits the mark.
Check out Lucy Daniel's review in the Telegraph ... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/fictionreviews/hardbackfictionreviews/10339453/Lion-Heart-by-Justin-Cartwright-review.html ... from the above you will be able to gauge if it is one to give a go, or one to let pass.
I found the narrator just didn't help. The little gasps of breath, the short, bland delivery ...
