About this listen
This audiobook tells the story of when I walked the Camino de Santiago alone at 62 in 2014. I thought I would easily cover 15 miles a day, and enjoy the sights of Portugal and Spain along the way. On the first day, I developed what became a massive blister on the sole of my right foot. I had to walk on my right heel, then twist to my left foot. This aggravated an old back injury. I had sharp pain in my foot and dull pain in my back, but I managed to limp all the way to Santiago.
On the road, I was helped by dozens of people whose most common question was, "Are you alright, you don't look too good?"
I was the traveler in the ditch, dand they were all good Samaritans. I was able to carry medals of Venerable Fr. Baker and Our Lady of Victory for friends whose illnesses or injuries meant they could never walk. I walked for them.
