About this listen

A wonderful story about a young girl who starts out being someone who is selfish, immature, and a person most people typically don't like, but as she grows through the story, she becomes someone to be admired for her strength, as she finds and claims her place in the world.

Nineteen-year-old Lily is frustrated and heartbroken. Her dad had disappeared when she was 12, leaving Lily without a father, without answers, and feeling abandoned. Lily takes out her anger on her mom, whom she sees as the enemy. Soon after, Lily’s friends head off to college, leaving Lily to grapple with her uncertain future in the small town of Ogden, Iowa.

When Lily suffers a series of emotional losses, she is forced to make a decision. She chooses to leave on her own to search for her dad. Along the way, Lily unexpectedly finds someone who holds the key to her future.

What Lily wants may only be a stepping stone to what she needs. No life is perfect or easy. Will the pain from her past give her the strength to push through, and if she does, how will her life change?
