زوجها يشكّل القيد الوحيد الرابط لحياتها دائمًا، هو المركب المسيطر على حياتها، ولكن هذا ظاهريًا؛ فهي من جهتها لا تطيعه، ولا تقبله، تفكر بالطلاق، وتحاول التحرر من الملل؛ بالانغماس في الملذات، والسعي وراء الغريزة، بشكل فج، وتحرير الذات..

لكنَّ فقدانها لصديقتها قلب موازين حياتها فاعتبرت رحيلها جريمة وهي إحدى أطرافها مما يدعوها لمراجعة الطبيب النفسي الذي يُحاول فرض وسائل علاجية تقليدية عليها، فينصحها بممارسة الرياضة والإنهاك الجسدي لعل فيه ظلال للإنهاك النفسي، وإبعاد التأثير السيء الملقي عليها، ثم يُشدد عليها في كِتابة مذكراتها يومًا بيوم، لعلها تستطيع الحكم علي تصرفاتها، أو تعيد النظر في الأفعال اليومية المُرتكبة، أو حتى آثار الماضي المُلقاة علي عاتق الحاضر....
