Publisher's Summary
Tony Hart loves teaching, even though he's not much older than his high school students. Between his profession, a few good friends, and plenty of books, he's content with his quiet life. Then, the murdered body of another teacher falls into the elevator at his feet, and Tony's life becomes all too exciting.
Jared MacLean is a homicide detective, widowed father to a young daughter, and deeply in the closet. But, from the moment he meets Tony's blue eyes in that high school hallway, Mac can't help wanting this man in his life. Mac's not out and can't afford to be out, but Tony makes him want the impossible.
Mac isn't the only one with his eyes on Tony, though. As the murderer tries to cover their tracks, Mac has to work fast or lose Tony, permanently.

I loved this audiobook.
Such a brilliant book a huge 5 stars.
Life lessons ticked all the boxes, a cop who was closeted but —- his life isn’t a simple one.
School teacher who is not in the closet!
Feelings that grow faster than they expected.
Children who pull at your heart strings.
Murder/ mystery which is written extremely well, and a book I couldn’t put down.
Then the audiobook— wow!
The wonderful and talented voice of J.F.Harding bringing the story to life ..
5 stars for the book , 5 stars for the narration.

A great Audible book to listen to
🎧5 stars all the way ❤
Beautifully voiced by the narrator, this was a first audio by Mr Harding I'd listened too. I loved the different vocals he used to each character. The mystery of who killed Mr Westin was a great puzzle to enjoy reading and listening.
A dramatic start to the book as Tony thought he was alone at school only to stumble on Westin been stabbed.
A mystery to solve a murder of a fellow teacher who may have disliked by a few. Tony is under suspicion but completely insistent.
Detective Jared Aka Mac was a widower with a child. Mac is deep in the closet even previously married to his wife.
A great first meeting for them both which starts an feelings for the Detective. Threats and Dangers are high as the killer turns his attention on Tony.
The mystery is a good one especially with little clues the police had to go one at the start. A slow romance for both characters especially with one in the closet.
I loved the ending of this for an Happy For Now finish. The epilogue clears up all the missing information relating to the case and its victims.

Looking at the world in a different way
I thought the story of Mac and Tony was great. The cop and the school teacher. Who is killing teachers in the school and how does Mac get Tony while being a cop. It was an interesting plot twist to hear how hard it would be for a cop to come out to his work colleagues. I never really thought about how dangerous it could be. This book is a fascinating insight into this.
Mac is a complicated man and it will take a very special man to take him on. Tony is that special one.
JF Harding did a brilliant job of narrating the story and I must look to find out what else he has done.
This is the first in the series for Mac and Tony. Their story does continue.
Still worth the credit.
