THE MULTI-MILLION COPY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

Rufus Leung Gresham, future Earl of Greshamsbury and son of a former Hong Kong supermodel, is drowning in debt. The only solution, according to his mother, is for him to attend his sister’s wedding and seduce a woman with money.

Will it be the French hotel heiress with a royal bloodline? The venture capital genius who passes out billions like lollipops? Or will Rufus betray his family and confess his love for his best friend and ‘girl next door’ Eden? But when a volcanic eruption burns through the nuptials and a hot mic exposes a secret tryst, the Gresham family plans – and their reputation – go up in flames, making Rufus’ choice all the more impossible.

Taking us from the sand beaches of Hawaii to the skies of Marrakech, from the glitzy bachelor pads of Beverly Hills to the inner sanctums of England’s oldest family estates, Kevin Kwan has written a juicy, hilarious and sophisticated tale of love, money, murder, sex, and the lies we tell about them all.

The story was very entertaining but the accents drove me crazy

I think I should have read this book rather than listened to it.
It was fun and entertaining but the narrator over acted terribly and Arabella’s (and some of the others too) accent and voice nearly had me abandoning the book.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story — Kevin Kwan has done it again!
The narration was not ideal, especially accents other than British.

Love this Kevin!

This book brought me so much joy. I loved crazy rich asians and the books that followed, but this is hands down my new favourite.

Easy listening, same formula no surprises

I enjoy the Kevin Kwan universe. There was no surprises in this one and followed the same formula . No twists or surprises really . Some of the characters were a little too caricature for me in this one. Not helped by the narration. Which times had odd phrasing? Breaths in the middle of sentences and upward inflection which I’m not sure was intentional and became irritating.
Easy beach read and enjoyable enough

Disappointing book. Terrible narration.

As a huge fan of Kevin Kwan books, I had been anticipating the release of this novel for months and am sorry to say that this book is disappointing. All too familiar plots, lacking the originality that I so loved of Kevin Kwan book. As much as I love Jing Lusi as an actress, she seems an unsuitable choice for a narrator of this book. It was terrible. She was necessarily breathless for Francis making him sound like he’s about to faint or in a need of an inhaler. For Annabella there are way too much chopping and pausing in a sentence it was hard to follow. Due to the poor narration, I couldn’t get through the Audible and ended up ordering a hard copy book, but the book ended up being a disappointment. I wanted to love it and really tried but it was hard to follow, and honestly very boring. Stick to the other Kevin Kwan books. They are way better than this.

Terrible narration

I’m also half way through and am struggling with the narration. Seriously, who speaks like that??
