About this listen

If Nick Stone wasn't so desperate for his American citizenship, he probably wouldn't have agreed to do this one last job with the CIA. But Carrie is over there and he simply can't refuse the chance of a new life with the woman he loves.

The job seems simple enough - and he is certainly skilled enough. Infiltrate the hostile, violent republic of Algeria, kill a money-laundering businessman, and bring back his severed head.

Stone knows there are some questions you don't ask, but as events spin out of control he realizes there is vital information he hasn't been told. Lurking beneath the glamorous exterior of the south of France is a dirty drugs war - and Stone is thrown into the middle of it. And there he is faced with his toughest dilemma yet...

A little boring.

Paul Thornley is a great narrator, especially going by the Dan Shepard saga.
I've enjoyed the Nick Stone series so far but this one wasn't up to par.
It was just......lacking.
Too much of "click, click" if I hadn't paid for it I would have shut it down.

Really enjoying this series

The "click click" thing that others have written about did not annoy me - which surprised me because I'm usually easily irritated about that stuff. I was already two chapters into the book before I clicked (see what I did there?) that it was even happening. So don't let it put you off purchasing. It's another ripping tale and this time there's two really likeable characters and a bit of humour, which was great!!

Click click!

I won’t be as harsh as the other reviewers, but do agree that the constant ‘click click’ didn’t work in an audiobook. A large portion of this book is Nick in constant two way radio communication. The non verbal acknowledgment ‘click click’ on the radio was constant and grating throughout.

It was actually a pretty good story with a great ending. Typically Andy McNab, very slow build up and probably a little too much attention to detail. I am hooked though and will continue on with the series.

Not as good as earlier books in the series

I thought that far too much time was wasted in padding the story and too little in pursuing the plot. McNab usually does this to an extent but this time it was so overdone it became annoying and I wanted him to get on with the story.

It has not turned me off however and I will try the next book to see how that is. Better I hope!

Boring

Just boring, too much using the words click click. Waste of time. Waste of money and time
