Short but amazing

The overall length is shorter then most of my other reads, but the story and storyteller carry it quite well.

It is part of a larger series and definetly on my list of next purchases to continue.

100% Recommended regardless of any shortcomings 😀

Kind of enjoyed it but LitRPG isn't for me

It was a good story but I found the computer game statistics bits, which are all through the story, a bit annoying. I think it is just that the LitRPG genre isn't for me.

Too much Solo adventuring

I Really didn't enjoy this one. The world building was so-so and the characters where dull. There didn't seem to be much character motivation and the interactions between them where uninspired. That's not too bad since most of the book is a solo adventure but I found that to be the worst part. Too much fighting low level NPC, no real boss characters with personalities and a lot of talk about stats.

If you like watching OTHER people play MMORPGs you might enjoy this book, but it defiantly wasn't one for me.

The story didn't quite grab me

Not much actually happens in this book. It's a bit like listening to a story about someone just grinding in an MMORPG for hours. There were some good parts but there were a lot of times where I would zone out for long stretches then refocus and feel like I hadn't really missed anything worth listening to. I don't think I'll continue with this series. It did have some decent voice acting though.

Very Strange

The book opens with a very 'hello fellow kids' approach with bacon and ranch dressing and sort of just stays. At first I thought the main character being 17 years old could explain away some of the awkward choices and what not but it just drones. He for some reason wants to go off and solo level, fine, then he joins back up with them, somewhere in there he talks to them despite saying how he didn't want to talk to them and told them about the main conflict that is coming.

This is a bog standard litRPG with a weak main character and a very weak cast that sort of just has a female character go from being stand offish to him to seemingly into him. I made it most of the way through and can't bring myself to finish it.

Now what?

What does the story even want to accomplish?
He says he wants out of the place yet the next instant he loves the place, the succubus gives him everything he asks for and more and it's explained away as outsmarting her?!?! he even goes into random motivations about wanting to punch her out? The game elements arnt that interesting, side characters are one dimensional and convenient, the mc is being set up as the 'one'. There is little or no payoff that feels earned. The novel length is ridiculously short compared to other litrpg novels.

It's passable but not worth it unless you have time to spare.
