About this listen

When shy and bookish Gavin Hartford is sent to London, he is prepared to be very bored and very lonely. But after he accidentally forms an acquaintance with dashing man-about-town Charles Kentworthy, his life is turned completely upside down.

Mr. Kentworthy seems determined to educate Gavin on how to enjoy city life. As Gavin opens up to Mr. Kentworthy - discussing poetry and magic, confessing his fears about marriage, and expanding his social circle to shocking proportions - he finds himself far outside his comfort zone. Will he have the courage to face his own growing feelings for his new friend?

This epistolary Regency romance is the first in a historical fantasy series, Meddle & Mend.

Delightful Regency romp with a wonderful twist

Regency London where all queer is just part of life!
A beautiful and amusing tale of love between a shy introverted young man and a wonderful sophisticated one who meet and, told through correspondence between, become friends.
Hearing through the letters between Gavin and his delightful sister Gennie and also Charles, showed the slow drawing out of Gavin’s personality and the very slow but inevitable growth of love between them.
Horrible brother John who I wanted to hit and Charles’ friends added to the lively range of characters.
I loved this book.

A Very Novel Novel.

This was a delightfully refreshing way of telling a story. It was completely told in the letters written to and from the residence of the central character. I have a hard time even trying to imagine how difficult that most have been to do. It is completely different to everything else currently on the market. On top of that the storyline was well developed; the characters engaging and the narration excellent; a truly charming romance. My hat is off to all those who made it possible. Well done. This was a fair dinkum standout. I’ll be looking for more from this author and narrator both.
