About this listen
Inspector Rebus Book 7
Struggling through another Edinburgh winter Rebus finds himself sucked into a web of intrigue that throws up more questions than answers.
Was the Lord Provost's daughter kidnapped or just another runaway? Why is a city councillor shredding documents that should have been waste paper years ago? And why on earth is Rebus invited to a clay pigeon shoot at the home of the Scottish Office's Permanent Secretary?
Sucked into the machine that is modern Scotland, Rebus confronts the fact that some of his enemies may be beyond justice...

Another intriguing investigation!
I am fond of Rebus even if self destructive. He always solves the puzzles. I will continue with this series.

Consistently very good
Rebus after some dodgy pollies. Great story as usual. Lots of humour involving Farmer Watson and Flower the Weed.

Rebus: Roiling Royalty
Rebus is a well-drawn character, developing and becoming more bad tempered and more cunning with each new book. Plots are excellently twisting and hard to follow, exciting, not too violent (well, mostly) and set in cold inhospitable Edinburgh. They are a completely reliable delight.

Corruption
Good story but sad to think that this happens especially in big business the world over.
