En tysk kvinde fra et borgerligt velbjerget miljø lærte sin danske veninde at kende under et ophold i Danmark, og der udvikledes mellem dem et sådan intimt forhold, at førstnævntes ægtemand, en hamborgsk detailhandler, der stod i vejen for de to kvinders endelige lykke, måtte ryddes af vejen.
