Inger Gammelgaard Madsen arbeitete lange Zeit als Grafikdesignerin in verschiedenen Werbeagenturen. 2008 debütierte sie mit ihrem Kriminalroman "Dukkebarnet", der bei Osburg unter dem Titel "Der Schrei der Kröte" erschien. Sowohl der erste als auch der zweite Band ihrer Krimireihe um den Ermittler Roland Benito wurden von Kritik und Publikum begeistert aufgenommen.
