About this listen
You've got your new dog, you've got the bowl, the collar, and the lead. Now what? This puppy doesn't seem to understand anything you say! You got your pet to be your companion - and yet all you seem to do is yell at her!
Let's change this right away: instead of focussing on what you don't want your dog to do, focus on what you do want. Instead of having unnecessary battles over trivia, build up terrific games your dog longs to play with you. Soon your unruly dog will be saying, "Yes? What would you like me to do for you?"
And so begins a wonderful partnership. Beverley takes you by the hand and leads you through the games and lessons, step-by-step. There's no strange jargon, no "Thou shalt not's," and every time you get stuck, another solution pops up. Through years of experience teaching new owners how to work with their puppies and dogs - entirely without force - Beverley knows just what you're up against.
The second book in the series Essential Skills for your Brilliant Family Dog continues the fun of training your family pet without force or intimidation. This book shows you how to teach your dog impulse control, so that he can earn great freedom in your home by being trustworthy around food, doorways, the children's toys, your best shoes...and anything else a puppy may take a fancy to!

Another excellent book!
Once again Beverley has excelled in writing. Her book on, “Leave It” talks about impulse behaviour in dogs and how to control it. She has written a concise and humorous book, set out clearly, so that anyone can learn the art of dog training.
Beverley uses only positive reinforcement in training.

Super Impressed
This is a great book, so good I decided to join the program.
Practical, easy, quick and very effective lessons. I now have such a super calm, super chill dog in a few short weeks. We have just rescued a Ridgeback x German Shepherd a breed we have had previously and was feeling a little out of my depth as she was bigger and stronger than our other dogs.
After listening to the books on a long drive home, 1600km, I got home full of confidence and, when the lessons actually worked and our dog did everything Beverley said she was going to do, I was so pleased I signed up for the My Brilliant Family Pet community video programme.
Thankyou Beverley forever grateful
