Publisher's Summary

Like many people, Evan Snow was just a regular guy, going about his life working a nine-to-five desk job as a recruiter. At some point around the entrepreneurial awakening in 2014, he serendipitously began obtaining inspiration in the form of TED Talks and motivational speeches, creating a desire to do more with his life. Once he received a spark in the form of some key "ah-ha moments", Snow decided to step outside his comfort zone, making many pivotal choices along the way to find his hidden potential. Learning to Choose highlights seven of these choices and the learning lessons that followed on his path to arts advocacy, community building, and creative entrepreneurship. The goal with sharing the stories within this book is to help inspire others to change their life, their community, and maybe even the world as a result of discovering the higher calling buried within all of us.

About the author:

Evan Snow is a local arts advocate, community builder, creative entrepreneur, and one of the proudest Broward County natives you will ever meet. That pride has led him to furthering the Choose954 social movement he created just a few short years ago to cultivate culture and community in his native Broward County. Snow has worked diligently to create new initiatives for our community to highlight the local creatives he’s built relationships with over the years who deserve a platform to be showcased. These initiatives have included Art Fort Lauderdale—“The Art Fair on the Water”, Fort Lauderdale Art and Design Week, The Choose954 Local Artist Discovery Series, AAF CreativeZen, and Zero Empty Spaces, among others.

Throughout his journey of advocating for art, he found the time to be a founding board member of The Ocean Rescue Alliance and The 1000 Mermaids Artificial Reef Project, working to deploy artistically crafted artificial reefs in the ocean off the coast of South Florida. This has since lead to the creation of two new artificial reef sites in Palm Beach and Hollywood, FL, with 100 structures being deployed to help provide habitat for fish, aid in coral restoration, support eco-tourism, and countless other benefits the reefs provide.

In the midst of all of these efforts, like many, Snow struggled with burnout and fatigue. Fortunately, the universe sent him a sign while on the beach in Tulum in November 2020 that lead him down a path of exploring yoga and mindfulness. When he returned from Mexico, Snow was fortunate enough to have an old friend from one of the local art districts offering classes in the brand-new Downtown Fort Lauderdale building he had just moved in to, which was a blessing he is forever grateful for. Through working with Chloe Ravel, a.k.a. The Gemini Rising, Snow developed a new zest for learning, growing, and becoming the best version of himself on levels he never imagined existed.

Needless to say, Snow is extremely passionate about pursuing his passions while making his community a better place to live in and not just a better place to vacation.
