 Victor Hugo nous fait entrer dans la tête d'un condamné à mort qui attend son exécution. On ignore qui il est, quel crime il a commis. Car l'auteur ne veut pas débattre mais montrer l'horreur et l'absurdité de la situation. Son texte a une telle puissance de suggestion que l'auditeur, s'identifiant au narrateur, partage avec lui l'angoisse et les vaines espérances. Book out of order

The chapters of his book were out of order. When I told audible books about it they asked for details as to what was out of order. I gave them general details but they continued to ask for more- essentially requiring me to listen to the entire book (out of order) and noting each one. It was so tiresome I eventually gave up. I quit my subscription with Audible too.
